UMNO Jangan Jadi Macam Lilin

"Jangan meniru perangai lilin. Membakar diri untuk menerangi orang lain. Contohilah sifat bulan, tiap-tiap dia bertentangan dengan matahari, dia mendapat cahaya baru"

Cahaya bulan bersumber dari matahari. Bila bulan terbit kalahlah cahaya bintang-bintang yang banyak.

Think

The difference between school and life?
In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.

Democracy
"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

Reality
"We can evade reality, but we cannot evade the consequences of evading reality"

Life Goes On
I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts, or fears.

I can't change your past with all its heartache and pain,or the future with its untold stories.

But I can be there now when you need me to care.
I can't keep your feet from stumbling. I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.

Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine. Yet, I can share in your laughter.

Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge. I can only support you, encourage you, and help you when you ask.

I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship, from your values, from me. I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.

I can't give you boundaries, which I have determined for you. But I can give you the room to change, room to grow, room to be yourself.

I can't keep your heart from breaking or hurting. But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces and put them back in place.

I can't tell you who you are.

What Should You Be?

Question: What is the best personality or the best identity for you to assume?

Answer: Anything you want to be! A cheerful friend, a businesslike executive, a caring listener. Whatever is best at the time.

Different circumstances require different attitudes. For example, to be a bossy manager at work might be appropriate, but you might drive your spouse crazy if the identity continues at home.

To be a rowdy sports fan at a game is great, but not what you should be when asking for a raise.

The reason people have trouble determining who or what they should BE is because they don't start with HAVE.

Children are commonly asked `What are you going to BE when you grow up?' It is a silly question and can drive any child up the wall. Wrong question—hits the wrong end of the cycle.

He is also asked, `What are you going to DO in life?' That's just as bad. It is quite difficult to answer.

If we asked children, `What do you want to PRODUCE in life?' we could probably get a workable answer. From that he could figure out what he'd have to do to produce that and from that he could know what he had to BE. Then, with a little cooperation he would be able to lead a happy and valuable life.
